David Hillenbrand
David Hillenbrand is an American writer, director, and composer. He often collaborates with his brother Scott Hillenbrand on projects. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America.〔()〕 He is a director whose movies include Hostile Takover (1997), King Cobra (1999), Demon Island (2002), National Lampoon Presents Dorm Daze (2003), Gamebox 1.0 (2004), Dorm Daze 2 (2006), and Transylmania (2009).〔()〕 The Hillenbrands also produced the theatrical stage show “Adrift” in Los Angeles in 1991 which was based on the best-selling novel of the same name.〔()〕 In addition to his active career as a film director and producer, David Hillenbrand has had an active music career in film and television. He served as the music coordinator, either for multiple television episodes or the entire television series, for Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (1995), X-Men (1992-1995), Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1991), Spacecats (1991), Blindfold: Acts of Obsession (1994-TV Movie), Sweet Valley High (1994-1995), Video Power (1991) and Tracks of a Killer (1996 – TV movie).〔()〕
In 2012 he directed Deadtime Stories: Grave Secrets, a film starring Diane Ladd〔Diane Ladd〕 and Jennifer Stone〔Jennifer Stone〕 based on the popular children's book titles of the same name, written by Annette Cascone and Gina Cascone.〔()〕 He co-created, executive produced and directed 8 of the first 11 episodes of the Deadtime Stories television series based on the book series.〔http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2589362/〕 The series launched on nickelodeon in the U.S.,〔http://www.nick.com/shows/deadtime-stories/〕 CiTV in England,〔https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/deadtime-stories〕 and DisneyXD in Canada.
The 2009 film Transylmania which he co-directed with brother Scott Hillenbrand was calculated as the financially poorest wide release motion picture to date, averaging only $262 per screen, and released on 1007 screens.〔(Box Office Mojo )〕 David and Scott Hillenbrand were sued by the Transylmania print and advertising ("P&A") financial backers in 2012, who claimed in the lawsuit that the project was a "staggering fraud".〔(The Hollywood Reporter )〕 Kim Swartz, representing the Hillenbrands, writes in response, "David and Scott Hillenbrand and their team of top professionals did everything they could to try to get their investors a return on their investment, even to the Hillenbrands' own financial detriment, and, as stated in the Complaint, in spite of the plaintiffs' failure to provide the agreed upon P&A funds in a timely manner. The Hillenbrands look forward to having the plaintiffs' completely meritless claims dismissed and to prosecuting their own claims."〔(Hollywood Reporter )〕 In August, 2012, the Hillenbrands’ production company, Hill & Brand Productions 7, LLC that produced Transylmania, counter sued Third Eye Capital Corporation and Strative Capital LTD for fraud and breach of contract seeking damages of no less than $107,000,000.00 and alleging a scheme to defraud Hill & Brand Productions 7, LLC and to exploit the name and reputation of the Hillenbrands for their own financial gain.〔(See Cross-Complaint for Fraud, Breach of Contract )〕
